Motorised blinds and electric tracks

Motorisation used to be an indulgence. Today it is often simply the sensible answer: for tall windows and stairwells you cannot reach, for heavy interlined curtains that are a genuine effort to draw, for bedrooms where blinds can rise gently with your alarm, and for family homes where removing cords and chains entirely is the safest choice of all.
Casa by Joanna supplies and fits motorised roller blinds, motorised roman blinds and electric curtain tracks, with battery powered options that need no electrician and mains powered systems for new builds and renovations. Everything is measured and fitted personally, and the motors themselves are whisper quiet.
Control that suits how you live
Choose a simple handheld remote, a discreet wall switch, or app control from your phone, including timers and schedules. Blinds can close at dusk while you are away, sheers can drop automatically when afternoon sun hits a south facing room, and whole floors can operate together at the touch of a button. Integration with common smart home systems is available where wanted, and entirely avoidable where it is not.
Where motorisation earns its place
- Tall and awkward windows, stairwells, vaulted gables and windows behind furniture.
- Bedrooms, with blackout blinds that close completely and rise on a schedule.
- Children's rooms, where cordless operation removes cords and chains altogether.
- Home offices and media rooms, taming glare at the touch of a button.
- Large glazed openings, where electric wave curtains glide effortlessly across bifold doors.
Honest advice first
Not every window needs a motor, and Joanna will say so. During your free consultation she will look at each window, explain battery against mains, and quote clearly so you can motorise the windows where it genuinely helps and keep simple, beautiful manual operation everywhere else.
Good to know
Motorised Blinds: your questions answered
Do motorised blinds need an electrician?
Not necessarily. Battery powered motors are fitted with no wiring at all and recharge in place a couple of times a year. Mains powered systems suit renovations and new builds where cabling can be planned in.
Can motorised blinds work with my smart home?
Yes, many systems integrate with common smart home platforms for voice and app control, and standalone remotes are available if you would rather keep things simple.
How long do the batteries last?
Typically several months to a year between charges depending on blind size and daily use. Recharging is done in place with a simple charging lead.
Can existing curtains be motorised?
Often, yes. In many cases an electric track can replace the existing track and your current curtains can be rehung on it. Joanna will confirm during the home visit.
